Seventy Russian cities were named finalists of the award.

From February 26 to 28, the final stage of the 3rd All-Russian “Tourist Cities” Award was held in Kasimov. A total of 70 cities from across Russia, including Perm, reached the finish.

In the final round, Perm was represented in the following categories: “City of Gastronomic Tourism,” “City of Popular Science Tourism,” “City of Industrial Tourism,” “City of Tourist Souvenir Products,” “City of MICE Tourism (for cities with a population of over 1 million),” “City of Tourism Brands,” and “Leader in Independent Quality Assessment in Tourism.”

Following the results of the competition, Perm received awards in the following categories:
– “Leader in Independent Quality Assessment in Tourism” – 2nd place,
– “City of Tourism Brands” – 2nd place,
– “City of Popular Science Tourism” – 3rd place,
– “City of Industrial Tourism” – 3rd place.

“These awards are the result of extensive joint efforts carried out together with the Government of Perm Krai, professionals in the tourism industry, entrepreneurs, event organizers, tour guides, restaurateurs, and everyone who contributes to making our city attractive and welcoming,” said the Mayor of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, in his Telegram channel.

According to the Department of Economic Development and Industrial Policy of the Perm City Administration, the regional capital is actively advancing in the field of industrial tourism. One of Perm’s key advantages lies in the diversity of tours. Residents and visitors can take guided tours of a humanoid robot manufacturing facility or visit the oldest confectionery factory in the Urals and Siberia. They can also try painting with oil, learn how banknotes are produced, and explore the manufacturing of river vessels and piers, automotive springs, and rocket engines.

In total, 48 enterprises in Perm are open to visitors, offering more than 50 industrial tour programmes. In addition, new formats for attracting tourists to industrial sites are introduced each year, support programmes are implemented, and informational assistance is provided. Enterprises open their production facilities for major events, act as organisers of such events, and develop exclusive industrial routes in cooperation with the city’s cultural institutions.

The “Tourist Cities” Award is granted to municipalities and individual localities in Russia following the results of an open competition. The award aims to promote the development of domestic tourism and the hospitality industry.
